Windy conditions made life tough at Nagambie Golf Club, with no-one playing to handicap in the hotly contested par event.

The competition was intense as four players produced a -1 result.

The thrill of the countback victory was palpable as Jim Doyle emerged triumphant over junior golfer Ryan Ezard, who finished ahead of Shaun Spicer and Graeme Keogh, also on -1.

Doyle took home the Seymour Club Mackay voucher and, in doing so, provided the shortest winning speech in the club's history, much to the delight of all in attendance.

The nearest-the-pin prizes were difficult to reach, with David Love taking it out by finding the dance floor with the assistance of a steady tailwind.
