Junior GV Suns enjoy mixed results as grading block comes to an end

It was a mixed bag of results for the junior Goulburn Valley Suns in their final hit out of the grading block.

The Suns’ junior outfits were up against Nudawading at McEwen Reserve, where onlookers witnessed a win, a draw and a loss.

Unfortunately for the Junior Suns, all teams featured down the lower end of the ladder.

The under-18s were defeated by Nudawading 3-1, with the Suns’ only goal coming from Hassan Alhilfi in the 51st minute from a penalty.

Nudawading proving too strong in the end with striker Jack Fielding scoring two goals.

The result leaves the Suns’ under-18s eighth on the ladder.

Things improved slightly for the Suns in the under-16s

It was a tense battle, but the side ended up sharing the points with Nudawading with a 1-1 score.

The Suns goal scorer was Layi Niyonkuru who scored in the 39th minute.

There was some joy for the Suns with the under-14s, who defeated the eighth placed Nudawading 2-0 in an impressive performance.

These young Suns have finally gotten their first win of the 2022 season.

The Suns made a good start early with the two goals coming in the first half.

The first goal came from a Seth Turri missile, with his strike finding the back of the net in the 17th minute.

Teammate Isaac Stojanovski also managed to beat the keeper with a terrific goal in the 35th minute.
