The eyes of soccer fans around the country lit up last week, with the announcement that not one, but two Kuols will be taking on some of the world’s brightest talent.

On Wednesday, Alou was named in Australia’s under-23 side that is set to compete in the AFC U23 Asian Cup in June, while on Friday it was revealed Garang was in the 30-man A-League All Stars squad set to take on FC Barcelona this Wednesday night.

These two significant selections not only acknowledge the superb talent that both Alou and Garang carry, but provides them with an opportunity to showcase it to the world.

Australia has been drawn in a group alongside Kuwait, Iraq and Jordan and despite playing limited senior minutes for German club SV Sandhausen this season, Alou is sure to have an impact.

Similarly, Garang will be looking to continue his good form when he pulls on the A-League All Stars shirt on Wednesday night.

One of two players hand-selected by A-League Commissioner Greg O’Rourke for the game, Garang will be battling one of the world’s most famous clubs in FC Barcelona.

The likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Frenkie de Jong, Adama Traoré and Dani Alves have all travelled to Australia for the game, with the contest set to hit Sydney’s Stadium Australia on Wednesday night.

While it may only be a friendly, Wednesday’s game will give Garang international exposure, not only providing an exciting experience but also potentially opening doors.
