Hefty suspensions have been handed out to two players who appeared in the Kyabram District League (KDL) grand final following news out of the latest tribunal hearing.

Lancaster’s Nicholas Ryan will sit out the first 10 weeks of next year’s KDL campaign after Wednesday night’s hearing found him guilty of all charges.

The Wombats’ ruck was reported by the umpire for headbutting or making contact to another person using the head (graded as intentional, medium impact, high contact).

He was also reported for attempting to strike, instigating a melee and engaging in a melee.

Ryan wasn’t the only player from the KDL grand final to be issued a lengthy ban.

Nagambie’s Mitchell Lusted was slapped with an eight-week suspension for striking another person (intentional, medium impact and high contact), instigating a melee and engaging in a melee.

He was found guilty of all charges.

Lancaster’s Lachlan Boscarini, Matthew Fleming and Noah Sewell were reported for engaging in a melee but were found not guilty.

Meanwhile, Euroa will miss one of its premier forwards for the first month of the 2024 Goulburn Valley League season.

Ben Giobbi has been handed a four-week suspension for a striking charge following a report from the preliminary final match between the Magpies and Kyabram.

Giobbi’s striking charge was graded as intentional, medium impact and high contact.
