Shane McDonald used to take catches with his wicketkeeping gloves in cricket but caught this beauty, a 70cm Murray Cod, last Wednesday, January 11 with a lure. He and son Jesse were fishing a few kilometres downstream of the Yarrawonga Weir when the cod was lured out of the water. The fish was returned safely to the river.
