Round 13 of the Picola and District Football Netball League will feature a battle between Mathoura and Yarroweyah, with the Timbercutters seeking their third win of the year.

Mathoura, sitting in 11th, faces 13th-placed Yarroweyah, who has just one win to their name in 2023.

The Timbercutters are coming off a narrow nine-point loss to the second-placed Strathmerton and are hoping to be bolstered by the return of key forward Aron Burns and wingman Louis Cain.

Coach Tim McCormick said it was a difficult night at selection after a strong run of form.

‘’It’s a hard one, everyone that’s pulled the jumper on in the last few weeks has been very good,” McCormick said.

‘’Our focus will be what it has been the last few weeks. Against Deniliquin we were nine points down at three-quarter time, we had a good win over Berrigan and a good performance against Strathmerton last week.’’

‘’We’ll have a focus on the same sort of gameplan, which is just our attack on the footy and getting in first for the ball.“

After a physical match-up last week against the Bulldogs, Mathoura looked to go high-tech in their recovery.

“For training on Tuesday, we treated it more like a recovery session with some hydrotherapy to try and freshen everyone up,” McCormick said.

Meanwhile, the Timbercutters A-grade netball side, currently in eighth spot, tackles ninth-placed Yarroweyah in a game that looks poised to shape the finals race dramatically.
