Max attacks and kicks stacks

Doing it all: Shepparton Swans’ Max Bicknell was the undisputed star of the show against Moama. Photo by Holly Daniel

The senior Shepparton Swans got the job done Saturday, but come Sunday afternoon it was the Max Bicknell show.

The Swans junior stood head and shoulders above in his side’s under-16 meeting with Moama in round two of the Goulburn Murray Junior League grading competition.

The only multiple goal-kicker on the ground, Bicknell sure made his impact count with seven majors in a blistering display as his side moved to 1-1 with a 10.14 (74) to 3.4 (22) win over the 0-2 Magpies.

There were some eye-catching numbers elsewhere as well, with Shepparton Notre Maroon finding 12 individual goal-kickers in a rampant 23.25 (163) to 1.1 (7) win over Alexandra.

Echuca Bombers, Mooroopna, Shepparton United and Shepparton Notre Gold each moved to 2-0 with respective wins over Seymour, Echuca Murray Bombers, Euroa and Kyabram.

Tatura stole some attention with a score that will prove hard to top in local junior football this year, notching its second win by a mammoth 34.25 (229) to 1.0 (6) domination of Broadford — with no fewer than 17 out of 20 listed players finding the goals.

Holly Daniel was on hand at Princess Park to capture the action for The News.
