The Tigers, who remain undefeated after 11 games, inflicted a 15.8 (98) to 3.9 (27) defeat to Mulwala at Scott Oval, with the home side simply too strong across the park.

In the first quarter things were even, on the scoreboard and the field, with an arm wrestle taking place between the two sides.

While Cobram took a 2.1 (13) to 1.3 (9) lead into the quarter-time break, the game was well and truly in the balance.

Yet, in the second term the young Tigers kicked clear, with the running and pace of the home side having it kick out to a 30-point lead at half-time.

In the third it was more one-way traffic, with Mulwala unable to get any real service into the forward 50 and as the last quarter rolled around Cobram cruised to a 61-point win.

Speaking post game Cobram coach John Brunskill said his side played well, with both sides having a number of outs.

“Our work-rate for each other, that’s what helps us, the boys are prepared to work for each other,” Brunskill said.

“We’re playing pretty good footy at the moment and we’ve just got to be able to keep it up and go from there.”

Similar to recent weeks, Brunskill said it was hard to pick any best players.

He made note of Izac Artavilla, Adam De Cicco and Kyle Coates, while Brodey Rudd managed to keep Mulwala goal-kicking machine Jack Sutherland to zero majors for the game.

“We just had blokes that played all over the ground that did their job,” Brunskill said.

Lions coach Rohan Davies said while the result was not what his side was after, he was not “overly concerned” about the win-loss.

“We’ve done the work and banked 10 wins, we wanted to get a look at them (Cobram) and if they were to beat us see how they did it,” Davies said.

“They were pretty comprehensive, we couldn’t run with them, a few comments from our guys said it felt like there was 30 of them out there.

“It’s more about what we can take away from today, where we need to increase, so if they get on top like that in the future we’ve got a way to match it with them because today we didn’t and we were comprehensively beaten.”

Davies acknowledged Owen Conway for his performance in the ruck, while thirds player Jett Peters, who was named third best for the Lions, has now well and truly made the jump to senior football.

In other round 11 games, Congupna has put its best foot forward for finals football, defeating Moama away from home by 14 points.

The game was neck-and-neck from the outset, with Brodie Newman, Lachlan Sidebottom and James Boyer standing out for The Road in the crucial win.

Tongala bounced back from three straight losses to down Barooga by 104 points, Numurkah cruised to a 41-point win over Finley, Deniliquin was too strong for Echuca United and Nathalia defeated Rumbalara.
