The ladders of Goulburn Valley Playing Area midweek bowls had thrills and spills as round 12 hit the greens Tuesday.

Much like their weekend counterparts, Shepparton Golf (8-4) squandered a chance to put top spot in an iron-fisted grip after falling short against a fellow contender.

Seymour (8-1-3) took the favourite on paper to task, claiming the chocolates with emphasis after a 14-79 to 2-59 win and moving 15 points off the summit.

Luckily for both of these sides, Kyabram (5-1-6) came in clutch to deliver a considerable boilover, just fending off top-ranked Shepparton Park (9-3) with a 14-72 to 2-69 result that could shake up the entire finals picture.

Euroa (6-1-5) maintained breathing room in fourth after knocking over East Shepparton (4-8), while Rushworth (2-10) is now all but assured the wooden spoon after a 16-85 to 0-62 sweep at the hands of Tatura-Hill Top (5-1-6).

The lower-ranked of two contenders also won out in division four, with Euroa surrendering top spot after a home defeat to third-placed Shepparton Park.
