Mathoura Public School Cross Country team took to the track with impressive speed and determination at the recent Deniliquin & District PSSA Cross Country Event.
It was held in the Murray Valley Regional Park in Deniliquin.
In cold and muddy conditions, the strong squad of 12 displayed not only impressive athleticism but also resolve and determination with eight students securing a top 10 finish.
Four finished in second, third or fourth places, and two sisters, Katelyn and Sophie Eddy crossed the line in the top spot as district age group champions.
Six Mathoura Public School runners qualified to compete in the next level of competition, representing the Deniliquin & District PSSA at the upcoming Riverina event.
This next stage of the cross-country championships will be held in Gundagai on Thursday, June 15.
