For Finley and Barooga, this weekend’s round 14 match-up is basically do-or-die.
Both sides remain a mathematical chance of playing finals netball, but a win this weekend is crucial if that is to happen.
A loss will spell the end of the season for the loser.
Hawks coach Matt Healey said a win last weekend over Numurkah was much-needed.
“We are very happy to be back on the winners’ list,” Healey said.
“It was a very tight game coming off the week off, I didn’t feel like that helped us.”
The seven-goal win puts Healey’s side back in with a chance, and the Finley clash is an opportunity to sneak above the Cats and closer to the top-six conversation.
“We’re definitely targeting a win, apart from playing Deni we’ve got a draw where we should compete every game,” Healey said of his side’s run home.
Elsewhere this weekend, Echuca United welcomes Tongala, while Mulwala will be eager for an upset win over Nathalia in order to consolidate its place within the top six.
Numurkah faces a daunting Rumbalara challenge, while Moama welcomes Cobram, the Magpies eager to surge closer to the top four.
Congupna takes on Deniliquin in the final match of the round.
