Moama has extended its winning streak to six games after thumping Numurkah by a massive 63 goals on Saturday
The Magpies dominated from start to finish, holding the Blues to just one goal in the first term before going on to win 81-18.
The result is Moama’s largest win of the season by far and their 81 goals is the second-highest score across the Murray League this year.
Magpies coach Lisa Drysdale said it was a fantastic performance from her side, especially in defence.
“Defensively I was so proud of the girls,” Drysdale said.
“It was a great team effort defensively. There was a lot of opportunities for held balls and we got a lot of turnovers through that.
“Everyone was very disciplined in defence, there weren’t many errors at all.”
Drysdale said Charlotte Sheldon, Jodie Lake and Steph Watson were three of the top performers on Saturday.
“Charlotte annihilated it in the centre, I have never seen her play that well. She was absolutely amazing,” she said.
“Jodie also had a standout performance in the backline, taking a lot of intercepts out of the ring, she was amazing too.
“Steph was very dominant when we had her in goals.”
Youngster Sienna Agg featured for the Magpies once again after making her A-grade debut against Mulwala in round seven.
“It was wonderful to have Sienna slot in in goal attack, it’s good to see what the future holds with juniors at the club,” Drysdale said.
The result has Moama in fourth spot on the ladder, three games clear inside the top six. Numurkah meanwhile is still yet to win a game so far this season and is at the foot of the Murray League ladder.
The big win is an ideal lead-up for Moama’s big clash against Rumbalara coming up this weekend.
Rumbalara sits second on the ladder with seven wins and just the one defeat so far this season.
The two sides met back in round one with Rumba getting the job done 37-27, but Drysdale said she was confident her side could flip the script this time.
“The win has definitely built the confidence in the playing group and I feel that we have the ability to beat Rumbalara,” she said.
