The final round of the 2024 AusCycling BMX National Series was held on October 8 at Westside BMX in Perth, with Echuca father-daughter duo Adam and Nyah Monsant representing the region at the titles.

Having competed around the country in previous rounds, they were in WA for the final hit-out of the series which was held as part of the BMX Racing National Championships.

Adam, competing in the 50-54 men’s class, and Nyah, competing in the 15 girls, were scheduled for three qualifying races, with the highest ranked riders progressing to a final.

The three heats went well for Adam, with the local picking up two third places and a second in the events.

The results qualified him for the final where he earned a final placing of fifth.

On a tough Westside track Nyah unfortunately wasn’t able to earn a spot in the final, after two fifth and one sixth-placed finish.

Adam earned a number four plate (ranking) for his overall efforts across the series, while Nyah had a final ranking of seventh in her division.

The Monsants have been riding competitively for the last several years, including recent podium finishes in the final round of the state series in July.
