Moving and shaking continues at top of Edna Harling Shield

Round five of the Goulburn Valley Playing Area Edna Harling Shield brought a couple of games destined to answer some important questions.

With three teams entering at 4-1, two of those top contenders met down south as Seymour entertained Shepparton Park in a barn-burner.

With victory the only sure ticket to a share of the league’s best record for one more week, the visitor powered through and moved back into first place after five match days courtesy of a 14-60 to 2-51 win.

Taking advantage and slotting comfortably into second was Kyabram, which proved far too strong for Shepparton Golf out west in a big 14-73 to 2-42 result.

Tallygaroopna would produce the most eye-catching pennant result of the week after demolishing East Shepparton 16-78 to 0-37 to snatch third.

Things were much closer when the two bottom sides — Euroa and Tatura-Hill Top — locked horns, with the Strathbogie side getting on the board at last after a memorable 13-46 to 3-42 victory.

Megan Fisher was at Shepparton Park as Avenel came to town only to suffer its first defeat of the season in division three — also a maiden victory for Park in its 14-73 to 2-52 boilover.
