The most exciting part of the Murray Valley Cricket Association season is here at last — grand final time.

Four senior and junior teams are gearing up for their season finales this weekend with two grand finals set to be played, while the home-and-away season will come to a close in other competitions.

In the senior Nutrien Ag Solutions T20 competition, Cobram will face off against Nathalia for the short-form title on Friday, March 3.

Cobram advanced to the decider after defeating Katunga by 51 runs.

The Tigers batted first and made their way to 6-142 from their 20 overs before restricting the Swans to 7-91 in reply.

Cobram’s opponents Nathalia punched its ticket to the grand final thanks to an eight-wicket win over Barooga in its semi-final.

Barooga made 7-104 in the opening innings, but facing off against the highest scoring side in the T20 competition, it was not enough.

Nathalia showed its class as it chased down Barooga’s total in the second-to-last over, reaching 2-107.

The T20 grand final will be held on Friday at Barooga Recreation Reserve, with play to get under way at 6.30pm.

The MVCA under-16 season will crown a new champion when Katamatite and Cobram do battle in the grand final on Sunday, March 5.

Katamatite and Cobram finished first and second on the ladder and will now face off once again with the premiership trophy on the line.

Katty enjoyed an emphatic 81-run win over Tocumwal in the first semi-final, making 6-164 before having the Bloods all out for 81.

Cobram also won its way through to the grand final in style as it triumphed over Finley.

Batting first, the Tigers reached 10-137 and promptly knocked over the cats for 55.

The grand final will be played at Katamatite Recreation Reserve at 10am on Sunday.

In other cricket action, the senior grades and under-14s will close out their respective home-and-away seasons.

In A-grade, Cobram, Barooga and Nathalia are all in dominant positions heading into the second day of their two-day matches.

In B-grade, Katunga will host Cobram, Nathalia will take on Strathmerton, Berrigan will face Barooga and Finley will come up against Finley.

In C-grade, Cobram will play Deniliquin and Nathalia will battle against Finley.

In the under-14s, the second day of play will take place in the final round of the season.

Nathalia is taking on Katamatite, Cobram is facing Deni. Katunga plays Berrigan and Barooga faces Tocumwal in the last two fixtures.
