Goal-scoring dynamo and modern-day legend of the Nagambie Football Netball Club Sharni Lloyd has cemented her place in Kyabram District League history.

If somehow the star Laker hadn’t already done so.

On Thursday night, Lloyd was awarded the Rita Warren Medal as the A-grade league best-and-fairest winner.

This is the fourth time Lloyd has won the prestigious award, a testament to her talent and durability in the star-studded Kyabram District League A-grade competition.

Lloyd was also named in the A-grade Team of the Year alongside players such as Lancaster’s Chicquita Vick, Shepparton East’s Sarah Maskell and teammate Michelle Williams.

Despite suffering from injuries throughout the season, Lloyd was able to push through and claim the Warren Medal with 24 votes.

The Lakers finished the home-and-away season in fourth place on the ladder.

Nagambie defeated Dookie United in the elimination final before losing to Shepparton East in their semi.

Lloyd said she was proud of how her side performed in 2024.

“We had a pretty successful season,” Lloyd said.

“Lots of ups and downs with team availability and injuries and the like, but overall pretty successful.

“We set ourselves a goal at the start of the season to make finals, which we did.

“(We) would have liked to have gone a lot deeper but obviously not to be.”

A long-serving star at Nagambie, Lloyd said she was impressed with the growth she has seen in the Lakers through their netball program.

“I think the standard has certainly improved a lot,” she said.

“The more that you’ve been around, the more you kind of enjoy it with familiar faces and that sort of thing.

“I’m really enjoying the league; it’s good.”

Nagambie’s star goaler would have undoubtedly received many offers to join opposition clubs within the Kyabram District League and other competitions in the region over the years.

However, Lloyd has stayed loyal to the Lakers, and she declared her love for the club after receiving her fourth Warren Medal.

“It’s just a great club,” she said.

“I’m from Nagambie, so it’s my local club — my dad’s been there, my brothers, all my family.

“It’s a great family club; I’ve got kids coming through the ranks now, so (there’s) just great people.”

Nagambie supporters will be hoping they will get to see their star goaler take to the court again next season, but will Lloyd go around in 2025?

“I’m hoping so,” she said.
