Preliminary finals have been set in the Murray League after a frenetic weekend of football and netball.

Scott Oval in Cobram will host clubs vying for the last ticket to the big dance on Saturday, September 9, setting up an exciting third stanza of finals.

Reigning premier Mulwala’s shock defeat to Congupna will see it face off against Moama in a repeat of last year’s preliminary final at 2pm.

The reserve preliminary final is much clearer, with Moama aiming for its second consecutive grand final when they meet Congupna in the noon clash.

The Pies and the Lions will contest in the under-17s preliminary final at 10.45am while Cobram and Deniliquin face off at 9.15am for the right to challenge Moama in the under-14 grand final next week.

In the netball, Deniliquin and Mulwala will do battle from 1.30pm with both clubs hoping to face Tongala in the A-grade decider, with the netball action kicking off at 9.30am with the under-13 final between Echuca United and Rumbalara.

GVL week two finals venues are set to be announced in the coming days.
