All the big senior football moments in the Kyabram District League will be broadcast across airwaves in the Goulburn Valley following a significant agreement on Tuesday, June 21.

Community radio provider 98.5 ONE FM has renewed its partnership with the KDL for the remainder of 2022, an announcement that sees local football return to the airwaves.

The agreement will see ONE FM broadcast one senior football match each weekend for the home and away season, along with the finals series.

ONE FM will also produce a KDL preview show, which will be broadcast on Saturday mornings ahead of the day’s play.

The action kicks off this weekend, with ONE FM’s broadcast to be the match of the round clash between Dookie United and Girgarre.

KDL president Fraser Kerrins said the league jumped at the chance to promote the clubs and the league through ONE FM.

“The ability to showcase a senior football match from our competition each week, whilst also getting to promote our league and clubs, can only continue to benefit our league as a whole,” he said.

“ONE FM is an important asset to our local community, and we are happy to partner with them to provide content that is live and local.”

The new venture comes after ONE FM and the Goulburn Valley League parted ways before the 2022 season.

The partnership between the KDL and ONE FM allows the local radio station to continue its 30-year history of broadcasting football in the region.

ONE FM and the KDL are also planning to develop a live-stream broadcast that will supplement, not replace, the radio coverage.
