The countdown has started for the return of the Victorian Par 3 Golf Championships to Kyabram’s Parkland Golf Club.

After two years in recess due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the popular Kyabram Club-sponsored annual event returns with the ladies’ championships on June 4 and 5 and the men’s titles the Queen’s Birthday Weekend of June 11 and 12.

Parkland has hosted the championships since 2005 and is keen to continue the high standard of presentation of the event.

Parkland president Greg Ryan said players who had previously contested the event and were returning this year would be more than pleasantly surprised with the current condition of the course and the work curator Paul Price and his team of workers had done since a mini tornado had ripped through parts of the course in July 2019.

‘‘Paul and his team have done a magnificent job in getting and improving the course from what it was. That with the present construction of the new clubrooms will turn a few heads, I’m sure,‘’ Ryan said.

Entries are open and can be made on the Golf Australia website.

The ladies’ entries close Thursday, May 26 and the men’s entries on June 2.
