Strathmerton’s 2024 season has been strong so far.

Undefeated so far, one might have made the mistake of assuming that when Strathmerton took on ninth-placed Deniliquin it would be a walkover.

The match turned out to be a fierce contest, with the NSW team putting up a valiant fight against their southern rivals.

The first quarter saw Strathmerton take the lead, 26-8, but Deniliquin rallied in the second quarter, scoring 22 points.

Despite this, Strathmerton took a 49-point lead into half-time.

The third quarter saw Strathmerton pull away, but the NSW team fought back fiercely in the final stanza, adding 20 points to their score.

Despite the strong effort, Strathmerton emerged victorious, 87-57.

Strathmerton’s Timothy Looby continued his winning season form, kicking five goals, a game-high.

Strathmerton's standout players included Riley Sampson, Trent Collyer, Matthew Shannon, Joshua Payne, Matthew Ryan, and Haydn Wyatt.

Following the result, both Strathmerton’s and Deniliquin’s positions on the ladder remains the same.
