Professional golf returns to Deniliquin next Tuesday when the club hosts the 2024 Legends Pro-Am.
The event is part of a three-year series supported by Edward River Council, with professionals joining local golfers on the Deniliquin course.
A welcome dinner will be held on Monday evening, and there will also be a players’ breakfast and barbecue lunch on Tuesday.
Spectators are welcome to come along and see the professionals in action, for what is certain to be a fantastic day on our picturesque local course, which is in tip-top condition.
It continues a busy time at the club, with a host of events in the coming week.
This kicks off tonight with the Tee Up For Cancer charity event, raising funds for Vince Kelly’s Tour De Cure ride.
An excellent field will gather for this 9-hole 4-person ambrose, with assembly at 5pm for a 5.30pm tee-off.
The next charity event will be Sunday, November 3 with the Deniliquin High School’s ‘Face the Tee’, also a 4-person ambrose over 18 holes, with 11am assembly for 11.30am shotgun start.
Entry fee of $30 includes a barbecue lunch. A feature of the day will be the ‘Ball Drop’ for a chance to win $1000.
This coming Monday, October 28, Deniliquin Golf Club will host the Golf NSW Women’s Medal Regional Finals.
Regular events next week will be stableford on Wednesday and Thursday and stroke for monthly medals on Saturday.
Golfers will register for all these events at the new pro shop inside the clubhouse, which is finally open after many years of planning.
It has been achieved under budget thanks to the tremendous voluntary support, and will help to improve the monitoring of players and provide an opportunity to extend the club’s opening hours.
Congratulations to everyone involved in this excellent project.
Regular and social golfers are advised to check in and register before play.
