The Deni Rhinos will face a stern challenge in Nathalia in round four of the A-grade Murray Valley Cricket Association season tomorrow.
The Rhinos, who are sitting in second after two one-day game victories, will travel to Nathalia Showgrounds to take on the fourth placed side.
Nathalia won their first two games convincingly, beating Berrigan by nine wickets and Finley by seven wickets, before losing last week’s match to ladder-leaders Cobram by three wickets with seven balls remaining.
In the corresponding fixture last season, Nathalia won by 101 runs.
They batted first and scored 242 with five wickets lost, Ewan Congues top scoring with 77 not out.
In reply, the Rhinos scored 141 all out, with Boddie Arthur top-scoring with 53.
There will be a little bit extra on the line for both teams this weekend, with the winner set to go through to the semi-finals of the MVCA T20 competition after the two teams’ T20 fixture was washed out in Deni two weeks ago.
The Rhinos’ C-grade side will also take on Nathalia after the Rhinos’ seven wicket win over Tocumwal last week.
This being their second game of the season, they take on the only other undefeated side in a top of the ladder clash.
In the junior Rhinos ranks, the under-15s continue their two-day match after an 88-run first innings, with Katamatite on 0-42 in reply so far.
The Woolworths Blast Competition and under-11s Friday night competition will continue today at Memorial Park, weather permitting, after a successful start last week.
