The weekend proved challenging for netball teams across the Murray River.

In the Murray Netball league, the Cobram girls took on Denilquin, and despite their best efforts, they were defeated 58 to 24.

Barooga faced off against its fellow NSW neighbour Moama and fared no better, falling to their opponent 65 to 18.

Cobram will next face off against Tongala, while Barooga will aim for a comeback when it plays Echuca United.

Round seven of the Picola and District Netball league saw similar highs and lows.

Strathmerton’s netball team matched the success of its football team, defeating Blighty 62-38.

Despite all efforts, Waaia took down Yarroweyah 68-14.

Katamatite won against Tungamah 53-28, while Tocumwal took the points against Jerilderie 39-29.

Round eight of the Picola and District Netball League will see Strathmerton take on Deniliquin, Tungamah play Blighty and Yarroweyah play Rennie.

The round will also see a clash between the states as Katamatite faces off against Tocumwal.
