Saints show spirit in junior football

Spirit of Footy round winners in the under-14 game between St Augustine’s Blue and Echuca Bombers were Billy Isaac and Lynkoln Richardson.

Five St Augustine’s junior footballers were recognised during the recent Goulburn Murray Junior League round 11 matches with Spirit of Footy awards.

The round is held to signify the spirit of togetherness, fair play, sportsmanship and teamwork among all involved and each of the St Augustine’s team captains presented a medal to an opposition player who has demonstrated these values throughout the game.

The St Augustine’s winners were, under-14 Blue v Mooroopna Cats Ethan Greiner (St Aug’s) and Liam Moreno (Mooroopna). Under-14 Yellow v Echuca Bombers Billy Isaac (St Aug’s) and Lynkoln Richardson (Echuca Bombers). Under-12 v Lockington Cale Polson (St Aug’s) and Finn Mundie (Lockington). Under-10 Yellow v Echuca White Dane Matthews (St Aug’s). Under-10 Blue v Echuca Bombers Mason Norris (St Aug’s).

Other award winners in the under-10 division were Mason Davis, AJ, Oliver Chee, Mason Fitzpatrick and Blake Schultz.

· In the under-12 match, St Augustnie’s won 106-0, Aidan Greiner kicking three goals, with Billy Sheppard, Callum Dervish, Nate Willis, Jett Emini and Cale Polson two apiece.

Award winners were Chris Fitzpatrick, Jacob Guerra, Aidan Greiner, Nate Willis, Finn Guiney and Hudson Gray.

· At under-14 level the Blue team had a 55-28 win against Mooroopna, with Sam Bruhn and Henry Miller both kicking three goals.

Best was Sam Bruhn, Billy Isaac, Henry Millar, Rhys Parsons and Jonty Sefton, while awards went to Ethan Greiner, Henry Millar and Sam Bruhn

The under-14 yellow team beat Echuca Bombers 42-19, after Echuca had held the lead for the first three quarters.

Awards were presented to Seb Greely, Cooper Hedges and Xavier Dodos.
