The Murray Valley Cricket Association will hold its sixth Hall of Fame Dinner next month.

Another four icons are set to be inducted into this prestigious club.

Each recipient will receive a PowerPoint display and a collage of their cricket career, highlighting their impact on the competition.

Under Col Smith’s guidance, the current committee had the tough task of selecting these four inductees from over 90 nominees submitted from current and past clubs, past players and the local community, and by fossicking through old records.

The committee was tasked with evaluating the cricketing history of each person nominated and assessing their credentials.

The list was categorised and trimmed to a final list of four.

The four are Colin McDonald (Yarroweyah/Umpires Association), Gerard McGrath (Cobram), Mick Cleary (Strathmerton) and Mick Cleeland (Waaia).

The committee will also lift Shane Maddox (Cobram/Barooga) to Legend status on the night.

Shane will join Mark Baldwin (Jerilderie) and Dennis Stokes (Yarroweyah) as Legends of the MVCA.

To mark this prestigious occasion, a gala dinner will be held at the Cobram Italian Social Club on Saturday, November 18 at 6.30pm.

The MVCA has gone all out for this marquee event, scheduling matches to give clubs the opportunity to attend. The MVCA is proud to be the first country association to honour its champions in this way.

There is expected to be a significant turnout of past and present players eager to pay tribute to the four inductees and legends and relive past glories and achievements.

Those wishing to be part of the night can do so by contacting Anthony Holmes on 0456 777 975 or emailing mvca@westnet.com.au
