Gloomy conditions didn’t stop avid tennis enthusiasts of Shepparton District Tennis Association from getting a few matches under the belt at the weekend.

McEwen Reserve and Shepparton North got the chocolates in round seven of the competition’s pennant division.

Clark Pettigrew, Dean Pritchett, Evan Cooknell, Helen Jackson and Louise Dwyer combined to help Shepparton North to a resounding 8-52 to 1-22 triumph over Kialla Park Old Students.

Meanwhile, McEwen Reserve ran out a 7-48 to 2-38 winner over Karramomus.

In A1-A2 action, almost a full complement of matches went ahead, with the Shepparton North and St Brendan’s fixture washed out.

Lemnos, McEwen Reserve Red and Murchison Golf were the round seven victors.

St Andrew’s took the points 7-49 to 2-26 in the only A3 match that went ahead.

News photographer Megan Fisher got along to Kialla Tennis Club on Saturday to capture some of the action between Shepparton North and Kialla Park Old Students.
