Midweek pennant, division one
Seymour secured second spot on the ladder and the vital “double chance” after a comprehensive two-rinks-to-one, 46-shot win over visiting East Shepparton.
The day’s biggest win went to Biggles’ rink, which won 20 of the 25 ends in a 38-shot demolition of its opponent. The skip reported that all Seymour players were “on”.
Alison Hall’s rink was another big winner. It stamped its authority, winning the opening five ends and had opened up a 24-shot lead after 19 ends before taking the foot off the gas. The final margin was 17 shots.
Max Hammond’s rink started brightly enough, winning four of the first five ends before losing its way a bit. It was within a shot with five ends to go but didn’t finish well to go down by nine shots.

Dale Sellick’s rink won the first five ends. Dennis Klein’s rink won the first two ends and Jenny Kreemers’ rink was level after two ends. Apart from that, the highlights were that they didn’t get sunburnt, heatstroke or wet and they all got home safely.

Midweek pennant, division five
This team also finished the season with a loss, going down but not disgraced on all rinks at Kyabram.
Riddy’s rink was never really in the hunt and the 12-shot loss was probably a fair indication of the match.
Jan McCarthy’s rink was within three shots near the halfway mark, but the hosts were too strong in the second half, with the final margin 11 shots.
Nick Munari’s rink was a little unlucky against a Ky rink that included some well-known and higher ranked bowlers. Seymour led by one shot with five ends to play but couldn’t quite nail the finish to go down by five shots.

Seymour hosted Kyabram in the final home-and-away contest of the season and, despite being well beaten in two rinks, secured a seven-shot win to nail down second spot on the ladder and ensure at least two finals matches.
Graeme Flint’s rink was the star of the day. After leading 18-blot after just seven ends, it went on with the job as it ultimately needed to and finished a massive 28-shot winner.
Max Hammond’s rink also did some heavy lifting. After dropping the opening end, it won 17 of the remaining 24 ends in a comprehensive 12-shot win.
Dale Sellick’s rink started like a bomb, leading by eight shots after just five ends. By smoko it was nine shots down and couldn’t mount an effective comeback, eventually losing by 13 shots.
Biggles’ rink had a dirty day. It had halved an early 10-shot dicit by the eighth end but could manage only three of the closing 12 ends and finished 20 shots in arrears.

A long season came to an end for Seymour’s division four team when it made the early trek to Alexandra. It finished in a creditable sixth spot after going down in three of four rinks to the finals-bound host.
Gerard O’Sullivan’s rink had a tough day and failed to reach double figures in a 21-shot loss.
Steve Reed’s rink lost an early lead on the sixth end and fell nine shots down past the halfway mark. It fought back to be level after the penultimate end before the host’s single on the last end decided the match.
Brodo’s rink led until the 10th end before dropping half a dozen ends in a row. It managed to get back within two shots with five ends to play but didn’t win another in the nine-shot loss.
Statistically, Dennis Klein’s rink has clearly been Seymour’s top rink in this division all season. Again, it didn’t disappoint and brought home Seymour’s only points for the day. It lost just three of the first 16 ends and thoroughly deserved its 10-shot win.
