The Lions girls are most certainly on their way.

Seymour’s A-graders put their streak-halting defeat to Euroa firmly in the rearview mirror on Saturday, knocking over Shepparton United at Deakin Reserve.

The 49-32 win featured another prominent showing from star goaler Ellie Fuhrmeister, who dropped just over half of the goals for the visitors.

The Demons were competitive with plenty on the line for both teams at five wins, but the hosts were held to single-figure tallies by a resolute Seymour defence.

Following their sixth victory in the past seven games, the Lions have overtaken a stuttering Shepparton side into fifth with a 6-3 record and a big opportunity to consolidate with 10th-placed Mansfield awaiting this weekend at Kings Park.

Wayne Herring was on hand to capture some of the action for The Telegraph.
