Seymour is set to be without its first choice ruckman for the next fortnight in what was another busy week for the match review officer.
The Lions’ William Brock was reported for engaging in rough conduct in last weekend’s round 17 Goulburn Valley League clash against Tatura.
Brock’s bump on Tatura’s Charlie Murdoch was graded intentional, high impact and high contact and he was referred directly to the tribunal.
The key tall pleaded guilty and was handed a two-match suspension.
He will miss the round 18 clash and the qualifying final against Echuca in week one of the finals.
His teammate Josh Alford will miss the trip to Deakin Reserve on Saturday after he accepted an early guilty plea of a one-match suspension.
Alford was cited by the match review officer for engaging in a melee and instigating a melee.
Tatura’s Will Russell also accepted an early guilty plea of one match for engaging in and instigating a melee.
Russell’s teammates Billy Cooper and Chaz Sargeant, along with Seymour’s Michael Hartley and Nathan Fowler were cited by the MRO for engaging in a melee.
Elsewhere, Shepparton’s talented forward Anthony Andronaco will miss the clash against Seymour and the first week of the 2024 season after he pleaded guilty to a rough conduct charge.
Andronaco was reported by the MRO for his rough conduct charge that was graded careless, high impact and high contact.
The Bears’ livewire accepted an early guilty plea of two matches.
A total of 12 charges stemmed from a fiery second half in the Kyabram and Euroa encounter.
Bombers stalwart Kayne Pettifer escaped with a reprimand after he was reported by the MRO for engaging in rough conduct against Euroa’s Matt Ivill.
The charge was graded careless, medium impact and to the body and he accepted an early guilty plea.
However, a swathe of players were cited for engaging in a melee.
Kyabram’s Josh Dillon, Kaine Herbert, Liam Ogden, Thomas Burnett and Cooper Vick were reported as were Euroa’s Ben Giobbi, Jacob, Jayden, Max and Zac Gleeson and Nathan Stewart.
Each player accepted an early guilty plea of a reprimand.
A Benalla reserves player was reported for behaving in an abusive, insulting or obscene language towards or in relation to an umpire.
The player was referred to the tribunal where he pleaded guilty and received a one-match suspension.
Meanwhile, two Kyabram District League talents received one-match suspensions following round 16 matches.
Nagambie’s Mitch Lusted was reported for striking in the win over Avenel, while Undera’s Tristan Castle was booked for striking his Longwood opponent.
Lastly, Alexandra official Simon Cole was reported for behaving in an abusive, insulting or obscene language towards or in relation to an umpire in the Goulburn Murray Junior League.
Cole accepted an early guilty plea of two matches.
