Seymour Sharks’ swimmers headed to state championships

Fins up: Sienna Lynch and Kadey Macklin will compete in the Victorian State Swimming Championships from this weekend.

One thing about Sharks is that they can never stop swimming, and three Seymour swimmers are living up to their namesake.

The Seymour Sharks Swimming Club will have three members competing in the Victorian state championships this week.

Kadey Macklin, Sienna Lynch and Oliver Kingston are the Sharks taking to the pool at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre from Saturday, December 16, to Wednesday, December 20.

It will be the fourth time Oliver has competed at states and will be looking to qualify for nationals, swimming in the 100m and 200m breaststroke, 100m freestyle and 50m freestyle events.

Kadey will compete in her third state championships and swim in the 50m, 100m, 200m and 400m freestyle, 100m breaststroke and 200m individual medley events.

Sienna will be competing in her second State Championship in the 50m and 100m freestyle events.

The club will have fingers crossed, hoping that the girls can come home to Seymour with medals around their necks.
