It’s shaping as a mighty good time to be playing football for Shepparton Notre.

The junior Bears are firmly in control of the Goulburn Murray Junior League’s under-16 ranks, with both posting huge wins at the weekend.

Notre Maroon rode the efforts of Spencer Sharp (six goals) and Lincoln Brand (five) to a 14.12 (96) to 0.3 (3) drubbing of the Cats.

Meanwhile, Notre Gold’s Riley Myers matched Sharp with his own brand of six as his side stayed unbeaten in a 20.14 (134) to 1.3 (9) walloping of Echuca.

Kyabram was similarly dominant in moving to 6-1 by belting Shepparton Swans 22.17 (149) to 2.4 (16) as Jedd Turpin bagged nine.

Finally, Tatura withstood a late Shepparton United comeback to hold on in a thriller, 12.4 (76) to 11.6 (72), snatching fourth spot from Mooroopna in the process.

News photographer Megan Fisher was at Mooroopna Recreation Reserve to snap all the action as Notre Maroon put on a dominant showing.
