Goulburn Valley Playing Area’s Edna Harling Shield has a new ladder leader thanks to a commanding round two triumph.

On Tuesday Shepparton Park thumped Tatura-Hill Top, scoring a 15-81 to 1-52 victory at home to edge ahead of rival Shepparton Golf by a point.

Graeme Myers skipped Park to a sizzling 37-10 result in rink one, while the second set of ends was locked in a 20-20 stalemate.

Rod Maddill’s Bulldogs were outgunned 24-22 in the third rink, meaning Park’s perfect start to the 2023-24 midweek pennant season remained intact.

Shepparton Golf remains hot on Park’s heels, but was pushed all the way by Kyabram.

Carla Miles’ four clinched a five-shot win in the first rink, with John Stokes following suit to pocket Golf a 26-19 result in the second.

Kyabram edged the final rink 26-21, but eventually lost out to Golf 14-77 to 2-70.

In the other games, East Shepparton grabbed its first win by bowling over Rushworth 16-79 to 0-50 and Seymour overcame Euroa 12-70 to 4-67.

News photographer Rechelle Zammit patrolled the greens to capture the action.
