For the first time since 2019 runners flocked to Victoria Park Lake to partake in the Shepparton Running Festival.

The event was back by popular demand, having hundreds of athletes from near and far traverse the flat courses along the Goulburn and Broken rivers in the 2km, 5km, 10km runs and the half and full marathons.

In Sunday’s main event Levi Hauwert was first to cross the line, finishing the marathon in a blistering time of 2.37:17.

Christy Lambert was the fastest female after completing the race in a little less than three hours.

News photographer Megan Fisher was on hand to snap the event.
