Simpson wins to claim brooch

This week’s Barbers Shoex sponsored stroke event also included the August club brooch.

The winner on the day was Sue Simpson with 67 net, which also gave her the brooch.

The putting competition was claimed by Helen Wastle with 26 putts.

Ball competition winners: Maree Doyle 69, Helen Wastle 72, and Beth White who had 73 net.

It was Rob Singleton, with 40 points, who claimed the day when the men played stableford on Wednesday.

Trevor McCaw was NTP on the 18th.

Ball competition winners: Barry Wilson 36, Ryan Donkin 35, with Chick Braybon and Trevor McCaw who each had 33 stableford points.

Stableford was played on the front nine for the Nine Hole Competition on Thursday.

Matt Daniel came home the winner with 19 points and Grant Wilson and Doug Smith, who each had 17 points, were winners in the ball competition.

Saturday, when the Southern Riverina News Stableford Event was played, it was Tony Smith with 38 points who took out the men’s division.

Helen Wastle, with 37 points, was the winner in the women’s division.

NTPs: 18th Barry Wilson, 13th Sharon Pyle.

Ball competition winners: Sue Simpson 36, Paul Pinnuck 35, and Andrew Tregeagle and Chick Braybon who each had 34 stableford points.

At the J and H Braybon sponsored day on Sunday, the men played two person ambrose as their qualifier for the 2023 NSW Keno Let’s Play Ambrose Competition.

After countback on 66 net, it was Grant Wilson and Matt Clarke who came home the winners.

The father and son pair of Matt and Harry Daniel, also with 66 net, were runners-up.

NTP: 18th Bob Ross.

Ball competition winners: Brett Murphy and Rand Wilson and Billy Smith and Marty Piggin, with each pair carding 67 net.

The ladies played stableford, and it was Sue Simpson who finished the day with 36 points the winner and Linda Rendell on 33 points a winner in the ball competition.

Friday’s winner was Beau Walliss (45-9-36), and the runner-up was Gail Browne (42-6-36).

Beau Walliss won the putting with 13 putts and the ball winner was Freddie Winkler (55-16.5-38.5).

Sunday’s stroke competition winner was Lachlan Whelan (88-16-72), and runner-up was Neil Graham (101-26-75).

Chris Cameron won the putting with 29 putts and the ball winner was Joe Nicholls (98-22-76).

This Sunday is stableford, with tee off at 12.30pm.

The ladies played stableford on the president’s course Tuesday last week, with some fabulous scores of 44 points from Marian Ayers and 42 points from Michelle Purtill.

There was also an eagle from Helen Crilly.

Division 3: Adam Naylor 41 points; R/U Gary Mott 41 points; 3rd Greg Lawler 39 points.
