SJTA ǀ Gallery ǀ Season under way despite wet weather worries

The region’s young tennis stars braved the threat of wet weather and soggy courts across the region at the weekend, intent on getting the Shepparton Junior Tennis Association season under way.

Much to the delight of players, a full complement of games was played across the competition’s seven grades.

Kialla Park Old Students got their season under way in commanding fashion, overcoming Shepp Lawn Yellow 6-45 to 2-28.

Mooroopna Lawn Blue and Shepp Lawn Green were the other A-grade victors.

Toolamba got the job done over Kialla Park Old Students Blue in B1 action, recording 5-39 to 3-38.

Kialla Park Old Students White was a resounding winners over Katandra West, coming away with an 8-48 to 0-21 win.

Shepp North secured a strong 6-38 to 2-31 win over Shepp Lawn Blue in B2-B3 action, while Murchison pinched a narrow 5-38 to 3-36 win over Nathalia Lawn.

Tallygaroopna, Murchison, Tatura Lawn and Kialla Park Old Students got the job done in the C1 encounters, and Nathalia Lawn, Mooroopna Lawn and Shepp Lawn Green got the chocolates in the C2 division.

Kialla Park Old Students White stole headlines in the D1 division with a nail-biting 4-37 to 4-34 win over Katandra West, while Katandra West, Kialla Park Old Students Blue and Shepp Lawn were the D2 Doubles winners.
