Echuca Swimming Club is making preparations for a strong 2024-25 season.

It’s been a great year of recruitment, with a huge number of additional swimmers joining up with the club.

“We’ve pretty much quadrupled the size of our Club,” said Echuca Swim Club president Krystin Nagle.

“This time last year we had around 12 swimmers, now, we’ve got approximately 50.”

The club will be holding a development day this Saturday, August 24, to start off its year and introduce new participants to the season format

“We’ve got a development day coming up on Saturday where all of our kids will get together to do their goal-setting for the future season, so we’ll do seniors in the morning and juniors in the afternoon,” Nagle said.

“It’ll be a day where everyone will get to meet each other as well because people are on different days and also an opportunity for parents to learn about the upcoming season and what that holds for kids.”

The club has four athletes headed to the Victorian Short Course Age Championships in early September, with the long course (50m pool) season kicking off in Kangaroo Flat in September 22.

Along with regular training for club members, Echuca will have a home competitive meet at the Echuca War Memorial Aquatic Centre on October 20.
