The Goulburn Valley will get a chance to marvel at several pieces of football history on Monday, August 5.

The AFL, AFLW, VFL and VFLW premierships cups will be on display in the centre of Shepparton this week.

The premiership cups will be available for the public to view at Rebel Sport’s Shepparton store, located on Wyndham St.

As a secondary major draw card, former Richmond and GWS star Brett Deledio will be at Shepparton’s Rebel Sport store on Monday from 4.30pm-5.30pm for a meet and greet with fans.

Deledio is one of the region’s best footballing exports.

Richmond selected him with the number one pick in the 2004 AFL Draft after he starred as a junior for Kyabram Football Club — making his senior debut at 15 — and the Murray Bushrangers.

During his time at the Tigers, Deledio won the AFL Rising Star award (2005), two club best-and-fairest medals (2008-09), earned two All-Australian blazers (2012 and 2015) and played 243 games.

In 2017, Deledio moved to play for Greater Western Sydney, where he registered 32 games in three seasons — cruelled by injury during his time at the Giants — before retiring at the end of 2019.

All four premiership cups are taking a tour of regional Victoria as part of a deal with Rebel Sport.

Shepparton is the first stop on Monday; the premiership cups will then travel to Ballarat, Warrnambool and Geelong stores over the following days.

At each store location — except for Geelong — a former football star from the region will make an appearance.

Hawthorn’s Brad Sewell will attend the Ballarat meet and greet, while recently-retired North Melbourne favourite son Ben Cunnington will visit the Warrnambool store on Wednesday.
