The 2024 A-grade grand final was a hard-fought battle, and a historic one for the Euroa Magpies.

In what was the club’s first A-grade netball premiership since 1983, the ‘Pies came away with a win to the tune of 50-43.

There were clashes all over the court, but the one that led from the front, and battled the hardest was wing-attack star, Hollie Reid.

Reid was awarded the best on court medal by the umpires, and the news had her teammates erupt.

When asked about what the medal meant to her, she diverted, getting straight back to her teammates and what they’ve meant to her netball this season.

“So amazing, so good,” Reid said.

“Coming from a club that, I haven’t really had the success, it’s been good to be in a team where I can play to my ability, and playing with high level players has been amazing.”

The gun WA was a little stunned to hear her name called out, and once again credited her teammates for growth throughout the year, leading to her impressive grand final performance.

“I dunno! I don’t really see myself as a high-level player,” Reid said.

“But I feel like playing with girls that are high level you play better, I’ve built my netball so much playing with these girls.”

If this is the version of Hollie Reid we get to see after just one season of playing with her premiership Euroa teammates was, the future is incredibly bright for Magpies.

“It was the start of a brand-new chapter (for me) that I’m just happy to be a part of.”
