“Time to knuckle down.”
It is not something you would expect from a two-time reigning premier, but that is the mindset of Seymour and its playing coach Ellie O’Sullivan ahead of the 2023 campaign.
The Lions were able to defend their A-grade crown — while clean sweeping the remaining senior netball titles — to stamp their authority as the competition’s powerhouse netball club.
But O’Sullivan and her talented outfit are hungry for more.
“We know the competition is so strong and last year we saw that the top-eight was even. We know it’s time to knuckle down again,” O’Sullivan said.
“Off the back of last year’s success, with all three sides winning, there’s a lot of excitement amongst the girls.
“We want to keep pushing ourselves and continue to perform at a high standard.”
The Lions have lost two faces from last year’s premiership winning A-grade squad.
Gun defender Nakita Singe has shifted interstate, while goaler Ella Tennant is set to take some time off.
B-grade talent and emerging midcourter Olivia Barry has been rewarded for her hard work and has been promoted into the A-grade outfit.
The nucleus of the premiership winning squad is still intact.
Defender Sarah Szczykulski, shooter Jess Lallo, versatile midcourters Courtney Aldous and Rosie O’Sullivan and Super Netball extraordinaire Casey Adamson are all returning.
