Echuca-Moama product Todd Murphy’s cricketing career continues to go from strength to strength.

The spin-king — who also appeared for the Hurley’s Hotel Hounds in the Goulburn Valley Bush Bash League — has been included in the nation’s next tour to Sri Lanka as part of a 14-man Australia A squad.

Nestled among an Australian Twenty20, One-Day International and Test tour, which is slated to span from June 7 to July 12, the Australia A fixtures include two one-day matches and a pair of first-class games between June 8 and 24.

“It's incredibly exciting to have an Australia A component, which offers the further flexibility and opportunity for players to be available for and cross over into all squads," Cricket Australia selection chief George Bailey told cricket.com.au

"That could be from a Test or white-ball preparation perspective or an opportunity to impress at an international level.

"This is the first time a tour of this scale has been possible since the Ashes in 2019.“

Murphy, who impressed for Victoria and the Sydney Sixers at domestic level this summer, is one of only three recognised front-line spinners in the ‘A’ squad, although another three all-rounders in the squad also send down effective slow bowling.
