B-GRADE (2)
Travis Johnstone hit a blazing century to set up a big win for Tongala against Echuca South at the South Oval.
In his innings of 110 off 89 balls, Johnstone smashed 19 boundaries and with plenty of support from Braith Northausen and Ryan Smith helped Tongala to an impressive score of 9-273 off its 40 overs.
Northausen hit eight fours in his 58 off 50 balls, while Smith scored 40 off 58 deliveries with five boundaries.
In reply, Echuca South posted a respectable 185 with Zac McKenzie and Hugo Monnich Vo each claiming two wickets for Tongala.
· Cooma’s batters recovered from losing three wickets cheaply to post a winning score of 7-187 against Rochester.
Hunter Fawcett with a brilliant unbeaten 79 off 88 balls with nine fours and Ethan Palma-Ludeman with a fighting 58 including five boundaries did most of the retrieval work for the Cooma batters.
In reply, Rochester succumbed in 37.3.overs for 98 runs with Jack Norris and Samuel Barbagallo each taking the wickets for the visitors.
· Girgarre’s moderate total of 79 proved a tough chase for Moama which lost eight wickets in securing the premiership points against some tight bowling led by Ben Campbell with three wickets.
Opener Lee Kempinki with 22 was Girgarre’s top scorer.
· Leitchville-Gunbower had the better of Nondies-Cohuna in the other game
B-GRADE (1)
An unbeaten 60 from Jonathan Pearson with support from skipper Brad Stewart (33), Craig Emmett (37) and Matt Evans (29) enabled Stanhope to post a winning score of 7-217 against Moama.
The Stanhope bowlers led by Danyon Stockdale and Brad Stewart were then able to restrict Moama to 7-156.
· Kyabram Fire Brigade won a tight duel in holding BLU to 9-164 after posting a score of 7-171, highlighted by knocks of 67 from Shannon Fleming and 64 from Tim Nelson.
Fleming faced 91 balls with eight fours and a six, while Nelson’s 64 which came off 87 deliveries contained eight fours.
Riley and Oscar Carver each with three wickets bowled well for The Flames.
C-GRADE
Fire Brigade cleaned up the Echuca batting line-up for 22 runs in 10.5 overs at the Echuca College oval.
Steve Grima with 4-10, Mitch Wilson 4-8 and Michael Mott with 2-4 were the only bowlers The Flames needed to trigger and complete the batting rout.
Earlier Flames opener Sam Spedding struck 67 off 67 balls with 12 fours, Nick Smart (39), Bodie Boal-Ryan (36) and Michael Mott (26) steered the Brigade to a healthy score of 9-248.
· Cooma’s score of 8-144 wasn’t enough to hold out Rochester which covered this score in 26.2 overs with Leigh Hartshorne starring with 63 and Asher Rasmussen unbeaten on 33.
Noah Stevens picked up three wickets for Cooma.
· Girgarre could manage only 96 against BLU which covered this score in 26 overs for the loss of one wicket.
Simon Tomasini top scored for Girgarre with 27.
· Elmore’s 102 was rounded up in 30 overs by Echuca which lost only three wickets in the run chase.
D-GRADE
Rushworth had a big win over BLU, losing just two wickets executing the victory.
With Declan Baldwin taking 4-22, Rushworth restricted BLU to 84.
Then Rushworth’s reliable openers Brett Pateman (30) and Peter Raglus (28 not out) wiped this total off in 22 overs.
