The two Shepparton sides of the Goulburn Murray Lawn Tennis Association top division are looking higher and higher towards the summit after more setbacks at the weekend.

The Valley’s record drops to 1-5 following the 10-92 to 2-67 thumping.
The Velvet Tigers’ win streak remains alive ― barely ― as the Nathalia-based outfit remains more than a game clear on top.
Shepparton Lawn Average Joes had the game in their hands with two ties remaining after the Nihill boys took the last men’s doubles rubber to lead by two overall.
Hope and Darcy Curtis McDonald, as they so often have, stepped up when most needed in separate ties to carry the remaining mixed doubles affairs and drag the Tigers over the line on games, 6-79 to 6-75.
