Violet Town secured its spot in the Kyabram District Football Netball League under-15 grand final with a dominant 77-point win against Murchison-Toolamba on Saturday.
The Towners headed into the clash as favourites, having comfortably beaten the Grasshoppers by 171, 109 and 44 points in rounds one, two and 16, respectively.
Straight from the opening bounce, the Towners put the Grasshoppers to the sword.
While dominant possession-wise, it did not show on the scoreboard until midway through the first quarter, when Koby Ross settled the Towners’ nerves, both of the player and spectator variety, to kick their first of the day.
Violet Town took a 10-point lead into the first break.
In the second quarter, Violet Town began to reap the rewards for its efforts, as Angus Richardson dominated the ruck, with Nate Nicholas and Billy Dyer on the end of his great work.
The Towners’ domination was finally beginning to show on the scoreboard, as a six-goal to none-quarter led them to a 37-point lead at half-time.
With the win just about locked away, Ryder Robertson was targeted in the forward line to give him the six goals needed to bring up his century for the year.
With seconds left in the quarter, Robertson would do just this to the thrill of spectators and teammates alike.
He would go on to finish with eight majors for the game.
With a 68-point lead heading into the last term, the Towners pressed on to extend the margin to 77 by full-time and book their place in the grand final.
Next up for Violet Town is Dookie United, which booked its place in the grand final by upsetting the Towners by two points the week prior.
