CO-COACHES: ROSIE ARNEL AND MILLY FOSTER 2022 FINISH: FOURTH (13-3)

There is a deep fire in the belly of Waaia’s A-grade squad as it enters season 2023.

After putting themselves in a great position for a premiership push last year, the Bombers faltered under the finals heat, with a pair of heartbreaking losses seeing them bundled out in straight sets.

With co-coaching unit Rosie Arnel and Milly Foster returning for another year, the squad has been quick to put the 2022 disappointment in the past and instead focus on continuing to build as a unit both on and off the court.

Set to have a great amount of depth and a hungry group of girls at her disposal, Arnel was excited to see what could be achieved on the Waaia Recreation Reserve netball courts this year.

“We’ve had a real influx of senior netballers come to the club over the off-season, so it’s reassuring to know that we’ll have a lot of depth this year,” Arnel said.

“All of our girls can play two or three positions each, so to have that versatility will make us a very dangerous team.

“After the way last year ended we are all super determined to go that one step further, and with the group we have I am very confident we can do that.”
