Last Wednesday, Yarra-Mul Lightning competed in the Mooroopna All Abilities netball tournament, showcasing their talent and enthusiasm.

This year's event, run by Valley Sport alongside AFL Goulburn Murray and Netball Victoria brought together 11 teams from Shepparton, Cobram, Echuca, Wangaratta and further afield.

Yarra-Mul Lightning stood out not only for their performance and sportsmanship but also for having the loudest and most supportive cheer squad of the day.

A special congratulations goes to Keely Thorp, who was named Player of the Day for her remarkable athleticism and impressive leap.

The team’s hard work and dedication were evident, with weeks of practice leading up to the tournament.

Yarra-Mul Lightning extend their gratitude to the Yarrawonga and District Netball Association for their support, including lending bids and whistles.

The club is optimistic about the goal to have two all-abilities teams playing against each other prior to the ladies games in the upcoming netball competition this October.

A big thank you to Nicole Niewenhout for her excellent organization.

With six team members preparing for the Tri-State Games in Portland this November, this tournament served as valuable practice.

The team is currently seeking sponsorship, so please reach out to Nicole if you are interested in supporting them.
