Youngest Rams squads make grand finals

A-grade: Mulwala 50 def Rams 48.

The Rams were ready for a big prelim, knowing that their opponent would come out firing.

The pressure was on from the first whistle and, in front of a huge crowd, the game would not disappoint.

The Rams found themselves three goals down at half-time, so decided to mix things up.

From that point on, the defensive pressure lifted, which forced Mulwala to make a couple of errors.

What unfolded was a thriller, with the lead changing in the last quarter many times due to spurts of netball brilliance.

While every player gave it their all, unfortunately Rams found themselves two goals behind as the final whistle blew, ending what was a fabulous 2023 season.

The weekend ended with a very successful Murray League vote count, with our very deserving playing coach, Rhiannan Maxwell, taking the League Best & Fairest in what was a stellar year.

B-grade: Tongala 50 def Rams 42.

B grade had a fantastic hit out against a tough Tongala side on Saturday in Cobram.

The Tonny girls came out firing in the first quarter which led them to a convincing lead by the quarter time break.

Not giving up, the defensive duo of Molly Barnes and Alana Tyndall kept B-grade in the game with some outstanding intercepts and plays down the court.

Once again, Steph Birk, Dakota Mitsch and Amber Farley ran out the midcourt for the entire game, which set our goalers up perfectly.

Lastly, well done to Kayla Hussey and Leah Blake who put in a four quarter effort.

The last quarter was fantastic to watch, and the girls left it all out on the court.

C-grade Tongala 53 def Rams 27.

No report received.

Under-17s: Rams 41 def Congupna 26.

There’s nothing quite like prelim game day.

Our last outing against the Road was not our best performance. They won that match by a significant margin, and that was in our minds heading into the weekend.

We needed to respect the talent and skill we knew they had without giving any time to that result. It was redemption day.

The team got off to a flying start. They played with grit, determination and skill.

Our movement into attack was smooth and calculated, and we played with such composure transitioning out defence.

These attributes saw us keep control of the game with the lead at each quarter.

Congupna had a surge in the last quarter, however the team re-grouped, took a breath and continued to push to the final whistle with a win and ticket to the big dance.

Under-15s: Rams 34 def Finley 20.

The girls came out fighting from the very first whistle and showed how determined they are to reach that grand final game!

Hannah McBurnie and Ava Richards combined in the defensive circle to turn over the ball straight away, sending it down for our shooters to capitalise on and show we meant business.

Sophie Tilders and Zoe Circuitt were fantastic in the goal circle all day, moving together as a team and being confident to shoot from long range.

Our midcourters, Aysha Mitsch, Molly Bradley, Phoebe Newman and Georgia Henderson ran hard all game and provided options all the way down the court.

Ava Marshall and Arabella Bliss came on and put pressure on their opponents, creating plenty of turnovers and allowing us to build our lead.
