Feel like a solid weekend of meeting people, playing new games, old favourites and having fun? You should head to ShepparCon, an annual board gaming event organised by a passionate group of local board gamers. Attendees can enjoy the friendly atmosphere, access to board game libraries, door prizes and good food and coffee on-site. With a growing library of over 100 games to play over the weekend, you’ll have a blast.

When: Noon to midnight, 9am to midnight on Saturday and 9am to 6pm on Sunday

Where: The Terminus Hotel, 212-226 High St, Shepparton

Cost: $50 per adult, $10 for children under 15 (attendees under the age of 18 will need to be accompanied by a guardian to attend)

School Holiday Movie Afternoon - The Bad Guys

Take the kids to the Shepparton Library for a free movie afternoon to see the 2022 animated film The Bad Guys. A perfect school holiday activity, the movie is about a crew of animal outlaws who are about to attempt their most challenging con yet — becoming model citizens. With free popcorn available, what more could you want? But make sure you book your spot, as places are limited.

Hall Stories at Tallygaroopna

Three-time Melbourne Comedy Festival Best Show nominee Damian Callinan is heading to Tallygaroopna on Friday night with his show Hall Stories as part of the Riverlinks In Your Town series. Hall Stories is a live comedy show that documents Australia’s beloved meeting places’ culture, characters, history and stories. You won’t want to miss Callinan humorously examining the quirks, traditions and characters of the Tallygaroopna Soldiers’ Memorial Hall, tailor-made for the town.

Are the kids after some laser tag fun for the school holidays? They can gear up, lock and load for a session this weekend! Take cover, fire away and get ready to dominate the laser tag battlefield like a champion. This event is specially for children 12 and under, ensuring a safe and fun experience for the youngsters.

Emma Memma - Boop & Twirl

ARIA award-winning children’s musical favourite Emma Memma is touring the country and bringing her Boop & Twirl Tour to Aussie families far and wide, including us here in Shepparton. There will be performances of classic tunes, and songs from the new album. So take your kids along to sing and dance with Emma Memma and her friends, Elvin Melvin, BB Butterfly, Waffles the Wombat and their favourite Memma Mates. Better yet, why not dress up in Emma Memma and Elvin Melvin’s favourite colours, orange, pink and green?

Fruits of the Valley Cyclo-Cross

Shepparton Cycling Club is hosting the Fruits of the Valley Cyclo-Cross, a two-day event where competitors tackle a mix of road cycling, mountain biking and running, all while navigating various obstacles spread across the course. Still not quite sure what cyclo-cross is? Go and have a look for yourself this weekend. If that doesn’t tickle your fancy, the event is fully catered with a coffee van, wood-fired pizzas, local beers and ciders, a speciality barbecue and a canteen available.

When: 8am to 5pm and Saturday 1pm to 10pm
